Privacy Policy

Prosperemus, LLC (“Prosperemus”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) publishes the Kinetic Suite of Microsoft Power BI custom visuals — Kinetic Map, Kinetic Map 3D, and Kinetic Timeline — and operates this website, kineticmaps.com, along with the licensing platform at license.kineticmaps.com.

This policy covers those three things. Prosperemus also operates prosperemus.com, which has its own privacy policy.

Questions about this policy: support@kineticmaps.com.

The Kinetic Suite visuals run entirely within the Microsoft Power BI environment, on your device or inside your own Power BI tenant. They read data from the Power BI report dataset that the report author has explicitly bound to the visual’s field wells — unit names, grid coordinates, dates, symbol codes, and so on. That data is supplied by Power BI and remains subject to your own Power BI data governance and to Microsoft’s privacy terms.

Your report data is never sent to Prosperemus. We have no server that receives it and no mechanism to request it.

Kinetic Timeline makes no external network requests whatsoever. All processing happens locally inside Power BI.

Both map visuals fetch basemap tile images from third-party providers in order to draw the background map. By default tiles come from Esri (ArcGIS Online); if you configure a different provider such as Mapbox or Stadia Maps, tiles come from that provider instead.

A tile request contains only the geographic coordinates and zoom level needed to retrieve the correct image. It carries no data from your report — no unit names, positions, dates, or symbol codes — and no personal information about the person viewing the report. As with any web request, the tile provider will see the requesting IP address.

Relevant third-party policies:

A license key entered into a visual’s Format pane is validated against license.kineticmaps.com. That request carries the key itself and standard connection metadata. It does not carry any of your report data.

The visuals contain no analytics, no telemetry, and no crash reporting. We do not know who is using them, how often, or with what data.

kineticmaps.com is a static site. There is no database, no user accounts, no comment system, and no content submitted by visitors.

This site sets no cookies. None — not for analytics, not for preferences, not for advertising.

The site stores two things in your browser’s local storage, both purely for your own convenience:

  • Your light/dark theme preference.
  • Transient search UI state for the on-page search.

Both stay in your browser. Neither is transmitted anywhere, and neither is readable by us. Clearing your browser’s site data removes them.

There are none. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, no tag manager, no pixel, no third-party script of any kind.

Our web server records standard access log entries — IP address, timestamp, requested path, HTTP status, user-agent, and referring URL. These are used to keep the site running, diagnose faults, and block abuse (we run an automated intrusion-prevention filter that acts on request patterns). Logs are not used to build profiles of individual visitors and are not combined with any other data about you.

The .pbiviz files are hosted on GitHub, and download links point there. When you download one, GitHub — not Prosperemus — handles the request and applies its own privacy terms. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.

License purchases are processed through our licensing platform at license.kineticmaps.com. When you buy a license we collect your name and email address, and our payment provider collects your payment details.

Payment card data never reaches us. It is handled entirely by our payment provider; we receive only a confirmation and a transaction reference.

We retain purchase records and your email address in order to deliver your license key, provide support, and meet financial record-keeping obligations.

We will email you your license key and transactional notices about your purchase. We do not send marketing email without your separate, explicit consent.

We do not use any advertising, analytics, or profiling service.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only:

  • with the third parties in Section 4, to the extent needed to operate the service;
  • when required by law, regulation, or valid legal process; or
  • to protect the rights, property, or safety of Prosperemus, our users, or the public.

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide our services and fulfil the purposes described here, or as long as the law requires. You can request deletion at any time at support@kineticmaps.com, subject to any legal retention obligations on purchase records.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access — get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — have inaccurate or incomplete data fixed.
  • Deletion — have your personal data erased, subject to legal retention obligations.
  • Objection or restriction — object to, or ask us to restrict, certain processing.
  • Portability — receive a machine-readable export of your personal data.
  • Opt out of sale (CCPA) — not applicable: we do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these, email support@kineticmaps.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Because the visuals hold no data of yours on our side, an access or deletion request in practice concerns your purchase and support records only.

The Kinetic Suite is a professional data-visualization tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We use industry-standard measures to protect the information we hold, including encryption in transit (HTTPS with HSTS on every endpoint) and encryption at rest for stored records. No system is perfectly secure, but we hold very little: no report data, and no payment card details.

We may update this policy from time to time. The revision date appears at the top of this page. Material changes affecting license holders will additionally be sent by email.
